Malta: Motherwell Bridge has opened a state-of-the-art welding school within its workshop in Hal Far.
Minister for Education and Employment Evarist Bartolo officially inaugurated the school this afternoon. Minister Bartolo expressed his satisfaction at this initiative, which will serve as an important step towards an increase in apprenticeships and traineeships.
Unlike similar facilities, Motherwell Bridge’s welding school gives course participants an opportunity to learn through practice in an industrial workshop environment. Experienced trainers will lead a range of courses from beginner to advanced levels. The welding school will be marketed in Malta and around the Mediterranean.
A lecture room is situated within the main building and is accessible from the workshop. The training facility features booths conforming to the latest industry standards, fitted with welding machines for different processes.
Each welding booth is fitted with a fume extraction system.
“Motherwell Bridge’s welding school has been equipped to deliver comprehensive training in all areas of this discipline. All programmes include dedicated health and safety modules,” Motherwell Bridge Managing Director Tony Mallia said.
“This training facility adds another dimension to Motherwell Bridge as it continues to diversify its portfolio of industrial engineering services. We are proud to be able to share the expertise we have gained throughout many years of international operations to newcomers to this field.
